Be Up Front AND Honest

Artist Brian Celio said, “Just because you’re upfront with someone doesn’t mean you’re an honest person; you might just be someone in the passenger seat.” Being up front is just part of being honest. You can put it out there, but what you put out needs to be the truth.

Joyful Springers know they need to be up front AND honest. They speak up, and when they speak up, they speak their truth.

When you assert yourself, be sure you’re asserting your true self.

Get Out When You’ve Had Enough

Persistence can be a great quality, but the time comes when persistence can turn to burn out.

Joyful Springers know they need to get out when they’ve had enough. When they get tired, they walk away from what they’re doing … temporarily or permanently.

It’s okay to give up sometimes. Getting out is better than burning out.

Get It From The Horse’s … er … Dog’s Mouth

The old saying, “straight from the horse’s mouth” means “from the highest authority.” The earliest known printed version of the phrase was in a 1913 edition of the Syracuse Herald: “I got a tip yesterday, and if it wasn’t straight from the horse’s mouth it was jolly well the next thing to it.”

So what is the highest authority? Some would say God. Others would name another deity. No matter what you call this spiritual authority, the way to find it is by paying attention to your own inner wisdom. YOU are your highest authority.

Joyful Springers get it from the horse’s … er … dog’s mouth. They know they can find the answers they need within themselves. They don’t have to stick their nose in someone else’s mouth.

You know what’s best for you; all you need to do is follow your instincts.

[I took this picture while Ducky was in her "Down/Stay" position before eating. We always give her the command before she eats, and she usually takes this semi-push-up position while keeping an eye on her dish. She's totally intent on her food but waits until we say, "Okay" before she dives in.]

We live in a world of thought energy, but most of us forget that. We go charging after this or that without getting ourselves in vibrational alignment with it first. We think that by DOING we can have what we want.

But DOING without BEING in a positive mental place can get us in a lot of trouble.

Joyful Springers think first and act second. They know they need to find a positive way to think about what they want before they go after it.

When you make finding reasons to feel good your number one priority, it’s easy to get your paws on everything you desire.

Joyful Springers check the periphery from time to time. They look around with an attitude of joyful expectation, ready for any new experience that comes their way.

Pay attention to the peripheral stuff in your life. You might find something great there.

Excellence is the state of excelling, and to excel means to be better than. In life, you always want to be moving toward better and better and better.
