Play With What You Have

A lot of people seem to live by this bumper sticker advice: “He who dies with the most toys wins.” They run out and buy as many gadgets or as much stuff as they can.  And there’s nothing wrong with that if it makes them happy.  But often, people accumulate new stuff before they’ve even enjoyed what they already own.

Joyful Springers play with what they have.  They appreciate their current bounty instead of yearning for more.

Before you move on to the next new thing, make sure you’re getting the  most out of the blessings that are in your life now.

[Ruby is back, and today is Ruby's birthday.  She officially turned one year old today. In this photo, she has gotten all of her toys out of her toy basket, and she's relishing everything she has! I bet she gets gifts today that she'll get to add to her treasure trove .  Thanks, Ruby, for guest starring again on The Joyful Springer. And Happy Birthday!]

Cozy Up

Author Kay Knudsen wrote, “Love is missing someone whenever you’re apart, but somehow feeling warm inside because you’re close in heart.”

Joyful Springers cozy up.  They love bundling up their love with others.

Being cool is highly overrated.  Instead of trying to be cool, get warm. Open your heart to someone today.

[Muggins loved to cozy up with her boyfriend, Bugs, the Basset hound.  I took this picture after Bugs' owner, Margaret, and I had walked the dogs on the beach on a cold, rainy day and then covered them after they settled in for a rest.  Of course, the dogs got the good sofa and the warm blanket while Margaret and I sat on the floor in front of the fireplace.]
