Have An Armchair Attitude
Artist Henri Matisse said, “What I dream of is an art of balance, of purity and serenity devoid of troubling or depressing subject matter – a soothing, calming influence on the mind, rather like a good armchair which provides relaxation from physical fatigue.”
Ahh. Doesn’t that sound great? So how do you get that kind of calm? You deliberately choose thoughts that create it.
Joyful Springers have an armchair attitude. They know they’re in charge of their own brains, and they’re careful to choose thoughts that bring them peace rather than stress and worry.
Ninety-nine percent of what you worry about will never happen. So why put yourself through all that? Look for reasons to feel peaceful and keep those thoughts at the forefront of your mind. It will feel like you’re riding through life in a floating armchair when you take control of your own mind.
… another wise tidbit from a joyful English Springer Spaniel.
[Murphy and Ollie are back. Lee Linenberg's happy boys may have their differences, but they agree on how to cozy up for a comfy snooze. Thanks, Murphy and Ollie, for guest starring again on The Joyful Springer.]
