Get Toted

Get toted little man gibbons Get Toted

You’ve heard of drafting in races, right?  By getting directly behind the car or bike or person in front of them, racers lower the resistance they need to to stay in motion.

In daily life, you can do something similar.

Joyful Springers get toted.  They understand that by accepting what is and expecting good things, they get in the flow of universal energy so they get “carried” to what they want more easily.

When you complain or worry or allow annoyance to run your days, you step out of the “drafting zone” in your life.  You push against the flow and make your life much harder than it needs to be.  When you relax and accept and celebrate, you get magically transported into the perfect situations and experiences.

Be All About Mirth

Its all about mirth Morgan hoffman Be All About Mirth

Laughing Cow Cheese’s slogan asks, “Have you laughed today?”

So, have you?

Joyful Springers are all about mirth.  They find a reason to laugh everyday.

Don’t let a day go by without a good, full-out belly laugh.  Actually, several of those are even better than one.  And if you can glue those laughs together with big smiles, you’re setting yourself up for a great day … no matter what happens.

[Meet Morgan.  This happy five-year old rescue from North Carolina belongs to Darlene Hoffman.  He's Snickers' brother. Darlene says Morgan is "a big lover boy." icon smile Be All About Mirth ]

The term “just ducky” is a marvelous U.K. expression that means excellent, fine, and wonderful.

Joyful Springers have a just ducky attitude.  They are so tuned into the best moments in life that their lives naturally ARE excellent, fine, and wonderful.

Excellence in experiences isn’t something you stumble upon if you’re lucky.  It’s something you choose by the power of your focus.  You can always choose to focus on life’s ducky moments.

[Pump is back. I had to break tradition today and include all four pictures her momma, Helen Gibson, sent me that captured Pump's 2008 birthday celebration.  Pump loves rubber ducks, Helen says.  So they gave her a Rubber Ducky Birthday party that they dubbed the "Lucky Ducky" party.  Helen told me that Pump “has ducks of all colors--pink, blue etc!”  Helen wrote, “It was her first  B-day  party after adoption...her first year on earth! We taught her that life is ducky!!! She didn't know that as a rescue and in her past life.  She is in the blue hat.  She does have the matching coat … for another time.” Because Ducky's full name is “Woodridge's Life is Jusducky,” I had to include this series as photos celebrating the idea that life IS just ducky! icon smile Have A Just Ducky Attitude ]

Grab The Ring

english springer spaniel GRAB THE RING Grab The Ring

Actress Mae West said, “Life’s just a merry-go-round. Come on up. You might get a brass ring.”

Joyful Springers grab the ring.  They understand that when they stay in the merry game of life with a good attitude, they’re in position to seize opportunities.

Everyday, circumstances and people come your way to provide you with chances to create exactly the life you want.  If you don’t have a “come on up” attitude, you won’t even notice the potential unfolding in front of you.  “Brass rings” are within your grasp everyday.  You just have to be riding high enough to see them.

Arm Yourself

Arm yourself Ducky Arm Yourself

Life will bring you conflict.  There’s no getting around that.  But you can prepare yourself for any conflict you may encounter.

Joyful Springers arm themselves.  They understand that developing a “weapon” of peacefulness and positive expectation will give them protection that feels just like being wrapped in the strong arm of a loving daddy.

When you decide to be a peaceful, positive person, you are always well-armed for any struggle.

Sit The Bench Once In Awhile

Sit the bench once in awhile rudie and jackie springer spaniels Sit The Bench Once In Awhile

It would be nice if achievement was a simple three-step process:

1. Get an idea.
2.  Work hard.
3.  Get the result you want.

Unfortunately, life has a way of throwing up obstacles that take the simple out of that three-step process.  When this happens while we’re in the middle of step 2, we have a tendency to push harder to try to power on through to step 3.

Joyful Springers sit the bench once in awhile.  They understand that there’s another step in the process of having what they want.  That missing step is kicking back and allowing things to fall into place.

If you’ve been struggling to achieve something and you feel stuck, take a break.  Walk away from it.  Think about something else.  Give your ideas and effort a chance to settle into place while you sit back and take a breather.  Sometimes less turns into a whole lot more.

Put Your Foot Down

Put your foot down snickers hoffman Put Your Foot Down

You know how you want your days to go, don’t you?  You know you want ease and fun and fulfillment.  So why accept anything less than that?

Joyful Springers put their foot down.  They have a clear intention of what they want and they keep that intention, no matter what.

Don’t settle for less than you deserve.  Take a stand and create your life the way you want it to be.

Have A Tropicical Temperament

Have a tropical temperament Delta Have A Tropicical Temperament

Are you waiting for your outer circumstances to suit you before you feel good?  You may wait a long time.

Joyful Springers have a tropical temperament.  They know they don’t need to have the world be a specific way to feel what they want to feel.

If you want to experience the peace and fun that tropical vacations conjure, don’t think you have to take a Caribbean cruise to get what you want.  Just CHOOSE to feel relaxed and happy now.

[Meet Delta.   This sweet five-year old from Monroe, Wisconsin, loves the snow and obviously has a keen fashion sense.   Her momma, Joan Howe, says that last winter, "If she wasn't chasing through it (with a toy) (notice her toy matches her coat), she was rolling in it and coming in the house, completely covered in snow."  I don't usually put snow pictures in the summer, but I thought the outfit screamed "summer."  icon smile Have A Tropicical Temperament Thanks, Delta, for being a Guest Star on The Joyful Springer.]

Gaze Upward

english springer spaniel gaze upward Gaze Upward

You’ve heard it a thousand times:  “What you see is what you get.”  But do you take it to heart?

Joyful Springers gaze upward.  They know their focus determines their reality, so they focus on the “ups” in life instead of the “downs.”

You’re in control of where you put your attention.  Use that power well to create abundance and beauty in your life!

[Even though Angel Riley has crossed over the Rainbow Bridge, she can still uplift us with her beauty.]

Buttress Your Growth

Buttress your growth rudie Buttress Your Growth

One of the biggest things that holds us back from expanding into better and better versions of ourselves is the fear of change.

Joyful Springers buttress their growth.  They create a safe foundation from which to learn and improve.

Your foundation can be a trusted friend or family member you can count on, or it can be a daily meditation or exercise practice.  It can be some treasured place or object.  It doesn’t matter what it is–just be sure it’s something that makes you feel safe and secure.

When you feel settled and steady, you will have the courage to reach further out.  You are so much more than you think you are.  Grow into yourself!

[Rudie is back. This little cutie is finding a way to prop himself up while he grows! (This photo was taken a few months ago--Rudie is growing into a beautiful dog now.) ]
