Examine The Grounds
Writer Frances Wright said, “All that I say is, examine, inquire. Look into the nature of things. Search out the grounds of your opinions, the for and against. Know why you believe, understand what you believe, and possess a reason for the faith that is in you.”
Joyful Springers examine the grounds. Instead of throwing around unsubstantiated beliefs willy nilly, they do their homework to find foundations for their perspectives; in so doing, they never perpetuate ignorance.
If you ever find yourself regurgitating something you were taught to believe and you notice that belief isn’t exactly serving you, do yourself a favor and take the time to figure out if that belief is as true as you think it is. You’ll live a more expansive and far more enjoyable life, if you choose your beliefs based on current evaluations of truth rather than old unexamined ideas.
