Of course we all want to be strong and independent, and these are great qualities to aspire too.  But the life can get scary and overwhelming at times.  And when it is, sometimes we need help.

Joyful Springers know its okay to get protection from a “big dog.” They understand that when they’re struggling, it’s smart to cuddle up to someone who has more resources, more connections, and/or more power.

If you are feeling lost or scared, know that you don’t have to go it alone.  Somewhere out there is a person who can assist you in a way that will be just right for you.  And asking for that help is not only okay, it’s the wise thing to do.

When we want someone to do something, we often go about it in a way that doesn’t work all that well.  We’re either too hesitant, or we’re too pushy.

Joyful Springers persuade playfully.  They keep a friendly, inviting attitude, and they demonstrate just how much fun could be had if you choose to grant their request.

No one likes a hard sell.  No one likes a whiner.  But who doesn’t like fun?  When you’re inviting someone, in your personal or professional life, to do something for or with you, keep your energy light and open.  If you do this, you’ll find that more people will want to do what you’d like them to do.

[Meet Mollie. This lovely seven-year old rescue mixed breed girl is a rescue because she rescued her person, Donna. Mollie and Donna live in a village in the middle part of England.  Mollie spends her days making sure Donna gets away from her desk; Mollie takes Donna outside to play ball at least hourly.  She also helps Donna with her work as a life coach teaching people how to create fun and fulfilling lives. We often feel SO misunderstood.  Then we feel resentful.  Then we cut ourselves off from others.  Then we feel even more misunderstood.

There’s a way to break this nasty cycle.

Joyful Springers explain their position.  They take their stand (or recline), and they happily let others know who they are.

You don’t have to give up your true self and the place you want to be in your life to be understood.  Hold your ground, and then explain who you are.  Give people every chance to know you.

Like Rodney Dangerfield, a lot of us feel like we don’t get any respect.  We feel like we’re not seen, not heard, not acknowledged.  And that may be.  But who’s fault is that?  Ours.

Joyful Springers put themselves across.  They clearly express their ideas and opinions so others not only hear them but understand and acknowledge them.

The world gives back to you what you give to it.  Want to be heard?  Put your truth out there to BE heard.

“Yap, yap, yap, yap, yap, yap.”  We all want to talk, talk, talk.  We have so much to say. Unfortunately, much of it is negative.

And when we’re talking all the time, how can we hear anything that makes us wise enough to have something positive to say?

Joyful Springers rest their muzzles.  They know that sometimes silence is the best thing they can offer the world.

In silence, peace grows.  Be still before you open your mouth and notice how much more positive your words are.

Are you having trouble understanding someone you work with or live with?  Do you wish you could communicate more clearly?

Barbara Walters said, “Wait for those unguarded moments. Relax the mood and, like the child dropping off to sleep, the subject often reveals his truest self.”

Joyful Springers relax the mood of communication.  They expect to get along easily with others, so understanding others is never a struggle.

The key to improving a difficult relationship is relaxing.  Let go of any past conflict and be open to new connections with the people in your life.
