Nudge Them Along

Nudge them along tjs puppies Nudge Them Along

Sometimes people don’t believe in themselves enough to go for what they want.  Sometimes they need a little reminder of how capable or brilliant they are.

Joyful Springers nudge them along.  They encourage others to own their strengths.

If someone you know is hesitating about going forward with something he or she wants to do, turn yourself into a friendly cheerleader and remind the person just how good he or she is.  Often, just a few simple words can be all it takes to launch someone to greatness.

[Georgia and her pup and her foster pups are back.  Georgia and these pups were rescued by Savings Grace Rescue of Raleigh, North Carolina and Georgia raised her pups and the other pups at TJ's Bed & Biscuit in Aberdeen, North Carolina.  Obviously, Georgia was good at nudging along these little cuties.  icon smile Nudge Them Along ]

Wrap Yourself In Crimson Splendor

Wrap yourself in crimson splendor sweet pea Wrap Yourself In Crimson Splendor

Ancient Roman poet, Horace wrote, “It is courage, courage, courage, that raises the blood of life to crimson splendor. Live bravely and present a brave front to adversity.”

Joyful Springers wrap themselves in crimson splendor.  They leap into every new year with the courage to create wonder in their lives.

You can go into 2012 timidly, afraid of what goes wrong.  Or you can prance into 2012 courageously, knowing you always have the power to transform wrongs into rights.

We’re often hesitant to try new things.  But life is about discovery.  So why hang back?

Joyful Springers immerse themselves.  They jump into new things with such joy and exuberant expectation that they bury themselves in the fun of it all.

Don’t deprive yourself of the joy of finding a new passion.  Dive into the new and different.  You’ll be delighted by how good it will make you feel.

Stand Out

Stand out rudie Stand Out

We get a lot of messages from those around us that not so subtly encourage us to fit in, but is fitting in a goal worth going after?

Joyful Springers stand out.  They are proud of their individuality, and they aren’t willing to let others tell them how they should look or think.

Instead of feeling uncomfortable the next time you feel “wrong” for any reason (like the way you look, the things you do, the way you talk or think), take a moment to relish your YOU-ness.  There’s no one else like you on the planet, and that is as it should be.  Don’t diminish yourself by trying to be what you aren’t.

[Rudie is back. This photo was taken last winter when he was still a baby.  He's coming up on a year old now but is still as cute as can be. icon smile Stand Out ]

Get A Leg Up

Businessman and writer, David Weinbaum, said, “Sometimes you have to put your foot down to get a leg up.”

Joyful Springers get a leg up.  They adamantly and confidently face ahead to the next achievement and the next achievement in their lives.

If you sit back and let others tell you what you can and can’t do, you’ll never get where you want to go.  Bellying up to the truth of how magnificent you are will give you the leg up you need to achieve whatever you want to achieve.

Bravely Face Open Mouths

Bravely engage open mouths sweet pea and poppy Bravely Face Open Mouths

A lot of people do or don’t do things because of what they think other people will say.  They let fear of criticism keep them from following their dreams.

Joyful Springers bravely face open mouths.  Their attitude about others’ feedback is “Bring it on.”  They know that it doesn’t matter if other people make fun of them or find fault with them.  What matters is that they’re being true to themselves.

You will never manage to please even half of the people you encounter.   There are just too many different perspectives.  Instead of putting your energy into avoiding negative feedback, put your energy into doing what makes your heart sing.  When your heart is singing loud enough, it drowns out any criticism or unkind things that might come out of open mouths around you.

Practice The Big Throne Sit

Body language is more powerful than we think it is.  The way we hold ourselves can affect how we feel.

Joyful Springers practice the big throne sit.  They strike a regal pose every time they take a seat, and because of this attitude of grandeur, they have great self-confidence.

The next time you’re feeling a little low or not feeling good about yourself, check your posture.  How are you sitting?  Are you slumping?  Probably so.  If you take a moment to pretend you’re the queen or king of everything and adjust your posture accordingly, you’ll be amazed at the boost of confidence and self image you get.

Do you hide your talents and assets behind too much humility?

Joyful Springers are in the forefront.  They know they’re “all that,” and they are happy for others to know it.  They know they can be confident and assured without being obnoxious about it.

You have so much to offer the world.  Don’t ever let others (those flashy flowery folks or flag-wavers icon wink Be In The Forefront diminish your wonder.  Own your awesomeness!

Buttress Your Growth

Buttress your growth rudie Buttress Your Growth

One of the biggest things that holds us back from expanding into better and better versions of ourselves is the fear of change.

Joyful Springers buttress their growth.  They create a safe foundation from which to learn and improve.

Your foundation can be a trusted friend or family member you can count on, or it can be a daily meditation or exercise practice.  It can be some treasured place or object.  It doesn’t matter what it is–just be sure it’s something that makes you feel safe and secure.

When you feel settled and steady, you will have the courage to reach further out.  You are so much more than you think you are.  Grow into yourself!

Refuse To Be Twiggy

english springer spaniel refuse to be twiggy Refuse To Be Twiggy

You can be be full and rich and ripe with potential or you can be tight and dried up.

Joyful Springers refuse to be twiggy.  They’re always bursting with life, all puffed up with confidence in what they have to offer.

Never ever make yourself less than you are.  You, in all your glorious “YOUness” are meant to be lush, not sparse.

[Sweet Pea is back. This lively eight-month old's mom, Denise, says she wishes she could have someone take action shots of Sweet Pea because "it's hard to play and take pictures at the same time." Anyone who owns an active dog has had that issue--and we probably all have blurry pictures of tails, the floor, and the wall. In this photo, Sweet Pea gave Denise a break and held still.  icon smile Refuse To Be Twiggy ]
