The quality of anything you build depends on the quality of the materials you use.

Joyful Springers use quality wood.  They know that the core of their lives is the quality of their character and personality, and they put their personal excellence before any efforts they make.

Before you DO anything, BE the best person you can be.  No matter how much effort you exert, you can’t create quality unless your inner core (your wood) is as quality as you can make it.

[Rainy is back.  This lovely two-year old is the "Shop Foreman" in her parents', The Pyleks', door and moulding business, Centerpointe Millwork in Portland Oregon.  Rainy's momma, Karen, says Rainy “is in charge of quality control & morale. Does an excellent job. Great attitude! She's been our Employee of the Month for over a year now!”  I don't know about you, but if I needed doors or mouldings, I'd visit Centerpointe Millwork just to see their beautiful Foreman.  Or is that Forespringer?  icon smile Use Quality Wood ]

Look Away From Temptation

We do a lot of things we know aren’t good for us.  Can that change?  Sure.  We just have to get control of our thoughts.

Joyful Springers look away from temptation.  When some substance or action isn’t good for them, they turn their attention to something that is good for them.

Giving up a bad habit can be relatively simple when you get your mind involved.  Turn your attention to actions and situations that serve you, and the ones that don’t will simply fall away from lack of use.

Joyful Springers know it’s important to floss.  They develop healthy daily routines so they feel good enough to play with abandon.

The next time you grouse about some mundane chore, think about how it supports the rest of your day.  When you have the simple habits in place, you’re a healthier, stronger person ready for the grand adventures that will come your way.

Eat Cake

Comedian Dave Barry said, “My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what I start. So far today, I have finished 2 bags of M&M’s and a chocolate cake. I feel better already.”

Seriously, who doesn’t feel a little better after a bit of cake?  Eating healthy is important, yes, but too much of anything, including healthy food, can be detrimental to our well being.

Joyful Springers eat cake.  They know it’s important to balance their healthy eating habits with a little bit of fun for their taste buds.

Are you being a little too strict with your diet?  Relax a little.  What you eat isn’t nearly as important as how you feel.  If a strict eating plan is squeezing the fun from your life, find some room in your diet for some treats.

Who among us is happy with very aspect of ourselves?  We all have habits or foibles we’d love to leave behind.

We can leave them behind if we’re willing to turn over a new leaf and discover a different side of ourselves.

Joyful Springers flip over and get to know new aspects of themselves once in awhile.

What seems hard now may be easy if you explore yourself a little and learn about sides you didn’t know you had.
