Choose A Fun Pillow

If you believe the media, we live in a harsh and terrifying reality.  Tragedy and injustice abound.  It’s easy lay awake at night thinking about everything that’s wrong in our world.

But does that really serve us?  No.

An Irish proverb says, “Humor to a man is like a feather pillow. It is filled with what is easy to get but gives great comfort.”

Joyful Springers choose a fun pillow.  They rest in an awareness of the pleasure in the world.  They choose to focus on what makes them laugh, what makes them feel good.

You can put your head on the rocky surface of reality at night, or you can rest your head on the delights of the day.  Before you go to sleep, remember the moments of laughter and fun in your day.  Take those thoughts with you into sleep, and tomorrow you’ll find you’ll have even more happy moments.

[Ducky loves her green Frisbee; it's one of her favorite toys.  So she chose a very fun pillow when she took an afternoon snooze on her bed in our "Fun Room," a spare room we use as a combination music room, reading room, and art studio.]

Sleep Restfully

Did you know that the last thought you have in your mind before you go to sleep will determine the attitude and subconscious mindset you wake up with?

Your subconscious mind takes instructions from you.  If you give it negative images in the form of worried thoughts, it will help you create negative experiences.  Your subconscious does a lot of its work at night, and your last thoughts before sleep give your subconscious its nighttime instructions.

Joyful Springers sleep restfully because they take positive images into their sleep.

When you go to bed tonight, imagine yourself doing something that makes you feel great and fall asleep with that image and feeling in your mind.  When you do this, you’ll enjoy a restful sleep and you’ll awaken programmed for positive experiences throughout your day.

Stand On Rest

english springer spaniel stand on rest Stand On Rest

How would you like to live in a house built without a foundation?  Such a house wouldn’t be all that stable and safe, would it?

When you push yourself through big projects without taking care to get enough rest and sleep, you are building something without a foundation.  Eventually, all your efforts will come tumbling down.

Joyful Springers stand on rest.  They know that their ability to sprint and leap depends on their commitment to getting enough sleep and down time.

You may have more to do than you have hours to do it, but if you force your way through without enough rest, you’re building a house of cards instead of a sound structure that will withstand anything.

Dream Of Your Favorite Things

English springer spaniel dream of your favorite things Dream Of Your Favorite Things

The last thought you take to sleep with you has a vibrational energy that you awaken with in the morning.  If you’re chewing on negative things when you go to sleep, your subconscious will recreate them all night long, and you’ll start your day with them.

Joyful Springers know to go to sleep intending to dream of their favorite things.

Before your go to sleep at night, imagine something that makes you happy.  Take that energy to sleep with you, and you’ll have it available when you wake up in the morning.
