Chill

chill jackie Chill

“I’m freaking out,” is a refrain we hear way too often these days.

Joyful Springers chill.  They know the fastest way to “unfreak” is to forget all about whatever upset them and instead do something fun or relaxing.

You can never truly solve a problem from “freak out” mode.  When you’re stressed, you don’t have access to the flow of wisdom that brings solutions.  So when you’re facing a problem, take some time to kick back and find your feel good.  When you do, you’ll be amazed at how easily things cool off and fall into place.

Soak Away Your Cares

english springer spaniel soak away your cares Soak Away Your Cares

We have a lot of unhealthy ways to de-stress–we use things like alcohol, food, shopping, drugs ….  We need a better way to release our anxieties and troubles.

Joyful Springers soak away their cares.  They know that water is one of the  most rejuvenating, balancing elements in the world, and they either swim or bathe their way into relaxation.

When was the last time you took a long soak in a tub or a refreshing swim?  Even a long, hot shower can work wonders.  Before you turn to a self-destructive habit to cope with your daily stress, let water soothe and nurture you.

Be Laid Back

It’s a stressful world, and it’s easy to get tense.  But we don’t have to give in to stress and tension.

Joyful Springers are laid back.  They see life as a fun ride, and they just relax into it.

Whenever you start to stress about anything, remind yourself that nothing is as big and serious as you think it is.  Imagine falling back into a fluffy, soft cloud that catches you and supports you.  That cloud is the divine energy that is always around you.  You don’t need to struggle.  You’re supported.  So lie back and enjoy the ride.

Get Stuffed, Not Stressed

image NOT YET Get Stuffed, Not Stressed

According to a survey done by British hotel chain, Travelodge, one in four men travel with a stuffed animal and 35 percent of adults sleep with a stuffed animal.  Why have stuffed toys made their way into adult life?  Because, say the men and woman who sleep or travel with stuffed bears, dogs, and other animals, the critters are calming.

Joyful Springers get stuffed, not stressed.  They know that keeping a cuddly toy nearby is a great way to let go of anxiety and allow in peace.

If you have secretly tucked a stuffed toy in luggage or are afraid someone will find out you sleep with a teddy, you can come out of the stuffed toy closet.  Be proud of your healthy way of taking care of yourself.  If you don’t have a stuffed animal nearby, think about getting one.  They’re remarkably soothing and are always good for a smile.

[Muggins liked to keep her stuffed toys close.  This one, a goose, was one of her favorites. ...  And for the record, I proudly announce that I own at least a hundred stuffed animals and sleep with one named Roni (he is the "son" of two large stuffed animals named Rosie and Bernie).]

Relax When You’re Boxed In

Feeling boxed in by life?  Too much stress?

When life has become a struggle to break free of too pressure, it’s time to take a break.

Joyful Springers relax when they’re boxed in.  They don’t fight the box; they just lay back into it.

The best way out of something is by finding a way to accept it.  Let go of the need to push against your boundaries.  When you relax, the boundaries have a way of falling away.
