Be The Moisture

Be the moisture Be The Moisture

Sometimes, it can feel like life is drying up around you.  Your motivation flattens.  How do you perk it back up?

Joyful Springers are the moisture.  They understand that by accepting the low points in life, they release pent up energy that can then burst forth into excitement for new adventures.

Not only nature has seasons.  You do too.  Allow yourself to “dry up” from time to time.  Be willing to accept slow and idle times.  When you do this, you’ll naturally access new wellsprings of enthusiasm and power.

[Pringles and Triscuit are back. This photo is their momma, Joan Howe's favorite, and you can sure see why!   Joan has a great photographer's eye--she saw a perfect Springer photo setting where others might just have seen dead grass. icon smile Be The Moisture ]

Layer Your Comfort

Layer your comfort Ducky Layer Your Comfort

“No pain, no gain”?  No way.

Nike may sell a lot of shoes with that slogan, but it’s not really the best way to live.

Joyful Springers layer their comfort.  They understand that making all aspects of their lives as comfortable as possible gives them a nice, cushy base from which to do whatever they need to do.

How comfortable is your life?  Do you make sure that you’re wearing comfortable shoes and clothes, that you have a comfortable bed, a comfortable car, a comfortable place to work, a comfortable home environment etc.?  Discomfort is draining.  When you prioritize comfort, you will have more energy for everything you do, and contrary to what Nike says, you will experience bigger gains in all parts of your life.

[I put Ducky's bed on ours while I vacuumed our bedroom floor.  She had been just lying on our bed when I put her bed there, but when I finished vacuuming, I discovered that she'd decided lying on a bed ON a bed is better than just lying on a bed ... i.e., two beds are better than one.  icon smile Layer Your Comfort ]

Love Your Mother

Love your mother Love Your Mother

Our society plops a lot of blame on the maternal doorstep.  And sure, moms make mistakes  If they didn’t, they wouldn’t be human …  and who wants to be raised by an alien?

Joyful Springers love their mothers.  They’re grateful for the gift of life and for whatever love their mothers are able to give.

Even if you were unfortunate to have a truly awful mother, one who hurt or abandoned you, you can love the energy of your mother.  Love your mother the way you wish she could have been.

Mother energy is within each and every one of us.  When we love that energy, we love ourselves.

[I am SO lucky to be the momma my Ducky loves.   I'm also lucky to have MY mom's (and Ducky's grandma's) love and support.  Happy Mother's Day, Mom!]

Ducky and Tim and I wish all you wonderful mothers (of Joyful Springers, humans, or whatever icon wink Love Your Mother ) a very Happy Mother’s Day!

Match The Beauty Around You

english springer spaniel match the beauty around you Match The Beauty Around You

We live in a diverse world, and we have a choice about how we fit into it and how we perceive it.  We can either mirror the good in the world or the bad.

Joyful Springers match the beauty around them.  They look for the best in the world, and they match it with the positive energy of optimism and appreciation.

The universe is a flow of energy.  Your energy merges with the energy around you, and the energy around you merges with you.  If you want to have a better experience in the world, give the world the better part of you.

[Meet Barney.  This four year old handsome guy was picked up by the local shelter as a stray.  English Springer Rescue sprung him and David and Leila Morris fostered him.  Then  Woody and Anne Senn of Columbia, SC adopted him, and now he is the love of their lives. The Senns say that with Barney, they feel as if they "won the dog lottery."  He stays with the Morrises now when his parents go off for the weekend, so he has two loving homes.  Thanks, Barney, or being a Guest Star on The Joyful Springer.]

Romp Often

english springer spaniel romp often Romp Often

Oh how serious life seems to be.  So many chores.  So many items on our to do list.  Sigh.  Who has time for frivolity?

Joyful Springers romp often.  They know that their play time spills into all their responsible time and helps them be more energetic and productive all the time.

When was the last time you played with complete abandon?  When was the last time you frolicked?  Romping isn’t just for kids.  Believe it or not, you’ll get more done if you have a jolly good time a little more often.

Be Wide Eyed

english springer spaniel be wide eyed Be Wide Eyed

Once we reach a certain age, younger than it should be, we think we’ve “seen it all.”  We start ignoring what we used to gaze at in awe because it’s now “old hat.”

Joyful Springers are wide-eyed.  They never lose their eager ability to see the wonder in all things.  They find a way to look at even the most familiar parts of life with new eyes.

If your life feels dull and ordinary, if you’re feeling a little down, you’ve probably muted out your surroundings with a jaded perspective.  Open your eyes wide and stare at something familiar until it seems unusual and new.  Seeing your world afresh can give you energy and change your mood.

Reach For It

We live in a big sea of energy, and what we want is always within our grasp when we’re willing to focus.

Joyful Springers reach for it.  They focus their energy on their desires and obtain them.

Everything you want is just waiting for you to grab it.  Align your thoughts with the life you want, and you can grab for your dreams.

Link Up

english springer spaniel link up Link Up

Organic gardener, Alan Chadwick, said, “We are the living links in a life force that moves and plays around and through us, binding the deepest soils with the farthest stars.” In other words, we are connected to every living thing in our world.

Joyful Springers link up. They are consciously aware of how their energy flows with everyone and everything around them, so they treat all living things with the respect and kindness they want themselves.

Whenever you are experiencing conflict or struggle, you’re acting as if you aren’t a direct conduit to the power and wisdom of all things in our universe.  To move past any challenge, all you need to do is get quiet within and link up with the abundant energy that flows through everything.

Stand For What You Love

When we find ourselves in this place, there’s only one real cure.  We must find do something that lights us up.

Joyful Springers stand for what they love.  They know that spending time doing things that fill them with exuberance is essential to sustaining high energy and happiness.

No matter how full your life may be, you can and you must find something that absolutely delights you.  The more you make time to do what you love, the more energy you have for everything you do.

Leave A Happy Wake

English springer spaniel leave a wake Leave A Happy Wake

Ever noticed how some people always bring you down while others always lift you up?

We are energetic beings.  Everywhere we go, our energy touches what’s around us.  When we feel good, our energy vibrates at a high frequency that creates good feelings in those around us.  When we feel bad, our low frequency energy poisons everything we encounter.

Joyful Springers leave a happy wake.  They always find reasons to feel good so they share positive vibrations with everyone they encounter.

Contrary to popular belief, it’s not selfish to feel good.  The better you feel, the better others will feel when they’re around you.  Reach for good feeling thoughts so you can have a positive impact on your world.
