Artist Henri Matisse said, “What I dream of is an art of balance, of purity and serenity devoid of troubling or depressing subject matter – a soothing, calming influence on the mind, rather like a good armchair which provides relaxation from physical fatigue.”

Ahh.  Doesn’t that sound great?  So how do you get that kind of calm?  You deliberately choose thoughts that create it.

Joyful Springers have an armchair attitude.  They know they’re in charge of their own brains, and they’re careful to choose thoughts that bring them peace rather than stress and worry.

Ninety-nine percent of what you worry about will never happen.  So why put yourself through all that?  Look for reasons to feel peaceful and keep those thoughts at the forefront of your mind.  It will feel like you’re riding through life in a floating armchair when you take control of your own mind.

What do you do when you wake up in the morning?  If you’re like most of us, you groan and reach for the snooze bar.

Remember when you were a kid and you couldn’t wait to charge into your day?  That’s the kind of energy that creates wonder.

Joyful Springers explode forth.  They launch into their days with enthusiasm and exuberant expectation.

If you’re not happy with your current circumstances and you’re waiting for something to come along and make you happy, you’re going to wait for a long time.  You have to BE happy to GET happy.  When you reach for good feeling thoughts at the start of your day, the energy of those thoughts will take you to miracles.

Don’t play the innocent.  BE the innocent.  Go out into the world with integrity.  What you achieve in pureness of heart enriches both you and the world around you.

Work, school, parenting.  Parties, volunteering, hobbies.  Alcohol, food, shopping.  We have a plethora of ways to pack our lives so full that we never have to spend any quiet time looking within.  But how can we know who we really are if we don’t look and listen to ourselves?

Joyful Springers have a line on themselves.  They aren’t afraid to look within and truly understand their own essence.

Are you honest about who you really are, what you really like to do?  Are you being YOU or are you playing roles someone else laid out for you?  Be sure you take some time to get intimate with all that is you.  Your life will be richer for it.

Being bored is highly underrated.  What’s so wrong with being bored?  As author Logan Pearsall Smith wrote, “One can be bored until boredom becomes the most sublime of all emotions.”

When you feel dull and weary, you’ve slowed your energy down enough to really be in the present moment.  In a way, boredom stops time.  It’s a way to be fully within yourself.

Joyful Springers take the ho hum view.  Now and then, they’re okay with hanging out and letting the dullness of inactivity recharge their batteries.

You don’t have to be Energizer Bunny … or Springer …  all the time.  It’s okay to have nothing to do now and then.  Relax into your ho hum moments and let them revitalize your spirit.

Do you know what determines what we can and can’t do?  It’s not facts.  It’s beliefs.  Your beliefs are what allow you to achieve … or not.

You get your beliefs, usually, from those around you.  So if people around you have limiting beliefs, so do you.

Joyful Springers vault over others.  They choose not to accept beliefs just because everyone around them holds those beliefs.

YOU and you alone can decide what you believe.  Choose empowering beliefs that make what you want possible.  And don’t let the negative beliefs of those around you keep you down.

Joyful Springers grow into their frogs.  They know that they came from pure, positive energy, and they have access to that energy, which is the same powerful energy that creates worlds.

You are a powerful person, but your power isn’t in your efforts to control what’s going on around you.  Your power lies within you, in your focus and thought.  Own your power today.
